Bringing in paper drawings, PDFs, and other media into AutoCAD is easier than ever. There are two ways to bring in drawings. One is to use the automatic Markup Import tool in the File menu, where you can import a paper drawing and instantly incorporate it into the current drawing. The other is to use the new Markup Assist tool, which provides a way to bring in and integrate files without opening an individual drawing. (video: 2:35 min.)Automatic Scale Select:When you open a drawing, a dialog box appears that lets you specify the scale of the drawing to use. Previously you would have to change the scale using the View → Zoom menu item, or select a scale in the Scale drop-down list at the bottom of the AutoCAD window. The new Auto Scale Select option enables you to place your cursor on the drawing area and see a scale bar appear that you can use to enter a scale. With the new scale bar, it is as easy as dragging the cursor to change the scale of the drawing, and clicking to commit the change. To move the shape, you can use the Right-click context menu to choose the Marker group command, or press Ctrl+G. The shape is automatically moved to the new position. You can create groups of shapes in a single command, and you can also change the location of a shape or group at the same time you change its size. With the MarkerGroup command, you can create and apply markers to a number of shapes or groups of shapes. With the Right-click context menu, you can choose the MarkerGroup command, or press Ctrl+G. You can also use the new Dynamic Scale and Rotate commands to scale and rotate a drawing to a new scale and rotation while you move the cursor. The new Dynamic Command dialog box lets you specify the current scale and rotation to scale and rotate the drawing to. (video: 1:26 min.)Freehand drafting tools 2be273e24d
